Cala Comte at sunset
A west-coast cove looking out at the islets of Es Vedrà — the most reliable dramatic sunset in Spain.
Über Cala Comte at sunset
Route anzeigenLow rust-coloured rock terraces stepping down into very clear water, with small islands offshore and the silhouette of Es Vedrà further south. The whole cove faces west, which is the entire point: the sun goes down into the sea directly in front of you, behind the islets.
Unlike most sunset locations this one works from the rock as well as from the sand, so a session is not fighting for space on a beach. The terraces give you levels to place people on and foreground texture that a flat beach cannot.
It is the best-known sunset on the island, so in July and August it is busy and the parking fills early. May and October give you the identical light with a fraction of the people.
Beste Zeit zum Fotografieren
The hour before sunset, arriving well ahead of it
Tipps
Parking fills long before sunset in season — arrive early or expect a walk. The rock terraces are uneven and slippery when wet; not the place for thin heels.
