Foto-Spot in Ibiza
Dalt Vila
A walled old town climbing to a cathedral above the port, inside Renaissance ramparts that have never been breached.
Über Dalt Vila
Route anzeigenThe part of Ibiza that has nothing to do with the island's reputation. A UNESCO-listed walled town of white lanes climbing from the harbour to a cathedral at the top, inside sixteenth-century bastions built to keep out Ottoman raiders.
The lanes are narrow, steep and white, which means bounced light for most of the day — the same geometry that makes the Albaicín work. The bastions at the top open out to wide views over the port and the sea, so you get the enclosed and the panoramic within a few minutes of each other.
It is quiet in the morning even in August, because the island's visitors are mostly elsewhere and mostly asleep.

Morning — quiet even in season, and the lanes hold soft light
Tipps
Steep cobblestone from the port to the cathedral, about twenty minutes up. Flat shoes for the climb. Vehicle access inside the walls is restricted.
