Deià
A village of honey-coloured stone stacked on a Tramuntana hillside, with the sea at the bottom of it.
Über Deià
Route anzeigenThe most photogenic village on Mallorca and the reason most elopements end up in the Serra de Tramuntana. Stone houses in a warm ochre that holds evening colour long after white render has gone flat, terraces of olive and almond behind, and a drop down to Cala Deià below.
The lanes climbing to the church at the top are narrow and shaded for most of the day, which makes them workable when the open hillside is not. The cemetery terrace beside the church has the view down the valley to the water — the frame the village is known for.
Deià is small and it knows what it is. Expect other people with cameras, especially in the shoulder months when the light is best.

Tipps
Parking in the village is very limited and the road through the Tramuntana is slow — allow far more travel time than the distance suggests. Cala Deià is a twenty-minute walk down and a harder walk back up.
