Your photographer will scout the exact spot in advance, identify the best angles and lighting positions, and plan their cover story — often posing as a tourist photographing the scenery. On the day, they'll be in position 15-20 minutes early with a telephoto lens to capture every moment from your approach to the ring reveal to your partner's genuine reaction. They'll dress casually and position themselves to look like a tourist, a local enjoying the view, or a casual street photographer — common sights at Spain's popular viewpoints and landmarks. They use telephoto lenses so they can shoot from 15-30 meters away without being noticed. Your photographer will send you their photo beforehand so you can recognize them and avoid accidentally drawing attention. After the proposal, you can surprise your partner with the news that everything was captured, or keep it a secret and reveal the photos later. Spain enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year, but your photographer will always have a backup plan ready. They'll prepare 2-3 alternative covered or indoor locations that are equally beautiful — such as glass-roofed patios, historic arcades, covered terraces, or botanical garden pavilions. Your photographer will check the weather forecast 48 hours and again 24 hours before the session and proactively reach out with recommendations. If conditions are truly unfavorable (heavy rain, strong wind), free rescheduling is available at no extra cost. Sessions at Cabo de Gata start from €310, with one to two hours at roughly €310–€450 depending on length and how many edited photos are included. The park is large and the roads between beaches are slow, so a session normally covers one or two spots — the cape and Mónsul, say, or Rodalquilar and Las Negras — rather than the whole coast.

The Arrecife de las Sirenas, a line of volcanic dykes below the cape lighthouse, is the signature frame. Playa de Mónsul has a huge weathered lava dome on pale sand, and Los Genoveses a wide dune-backed bay near San José. Rodalquilar sets an abandoned gold works against orange badlands, and Playa de los Muertos is a pale pebble beach below a steep path. Las Negras adds a small dark-stone fishing village.

There is essentially no shade in the park, so sessions run at sunrise or in the last two hours of light, when the volcanic rock turns orange and the sea goes deep blue. Spring puts flowers across the badlands and keeps temperatures reasonable; October gives warm water without crowds. July and August are hot, bright and busy, and midday light flattens the whole landscape.
