Where the shoot happens
- Plaza de España. A 200-metre curved façade, a canal and four tiled bridges. First light is the time: by ten in summer the brick glares and the crowds arrive. The tiled province alcoves stay in shade when the plaza is blinding.
- Barrio de Santa Cruz. White lanes, orange-tree squares and wrought-iron balconies, in shade all day. People live here, so keep voices down early.
- Real Alcázar. Timed tickets that often sell out days ahead, for everyone including the photographer. The first entry slot gives soft light in the courtyards; tripods are generally not allowed in the palace rooms, and a paid session inside needs the Alcázar's own permission.
- Triana bridge and Calle Betis. Morning lights the Betis façades head-on, the last hour belongs to the Triana bank, and blue hour doubles the lit bridge in the river.
- Metropol Parasol. The timber "mushrooms" give a graphic, shaded ceiling at any hour. The walkway on top is ticketed and busiest exactly at sunset, so go up twenty minutes early.
