Dalt Vila, the fortified old town, climbs above the port in sandstone ramparts and stepped lanes, with the whole harbour laid out from the top. On the west coast, Cala Comte and Cala Bassa give the sunsets people travel for, and Cala d'Hort looks straight at the rock of Es Vedrà.
