Plaza de España with its tiled alcoves and canal is Seville's signature backdrop. Other favourites are the gardens of the Real Alcázar, the whitewashed lanes of Barrio Santa Cruz, the wooden waves of the Metropol Parasol (Setas de Sevilla), the Torre del Oro on the river, and the Triana bridge with its colourful houses across the water.

In Seville the early morning matters more than anywhere else in Spain: from June to September the afternoon heat is serious, and the soft light just after sunrise is both kinder and crowd-free at Plaza de España. Golden hour before sunset works beautifully by the river and in Triana. Spring, with the orange trees in blossom, is a local favourite season.

Plaza de España is a free public square — no ticket, which is why it's Seville's most photographed session location. The interior and gardens of the Real Alcázar require a timed entry ticket, so book ahead if you want them in your shoot. For typical small sessions in public areas no permit is usually needed; photographers know the local rules.

For peak wedding season (May through October), we strongly recommend booking 6-12 months in advance, especially for Saturday weddings at popular venues. Spain's top wedding photographers often have their prime summer dates booked a full year ahead, particularly in sought-after regions like the Costa del Sol, Toledo, and La Rioja. For off-season weddings (November through April), you'll have more flexibility and may find availability with 2-3 months notice. Weekday weddings also tend to have better photographer availability year-round.
