The Puente Nuevo over its 120-metre gorge is the one nothing else in Spain matches. All the good ones are free and public. The Mirador de Aldehuela beside the bridge is the quickest but small and busy at midday. The Jardines de Cuenca opposite give the bridge whole, and the balcony of the Alameda del Tajo looks over open country. The path down into the gorge yields the classic low angle but is steep, loose and unrailed in places — flat shoes.
